MobileBurn.com – The Pantech Burst is a new 4G LTE smartphone for AT&T that carries an impressive list of specs for its price point. Sporting a 4-inch, Super AMOLED display, the Burst is said to be powered by a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, though we found out that our review unit is clocked at a faster 1.5GHz speed. Either way, performance is snappy even though the Burst is saddled with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread instead of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The build quality of the Burst is nothing to write home about, but we didn’t notice any particular issues with it either. If there is one thing to complain about, it is with the capacitive buttons, which, as you can see in the video, are not the most responsive. The camera is also a disappointment, as it features only 5 megapixels in resolution and records 720p video instead of 1080p. We also found the autofocus to be intolerably slow. But it’s hard to complain with a dual-core, 4G LTE smartphone that sells for only on-contract. AT&T is offering the Pantech Burst in Ruby Red and Titanium colors now. More info: www.mobileburn.com
