Tethered means that every time your iPod or iPhone turns off (and I mean all the way off) it will say connect to iTunes. It won’t turn on at all, so you have to plug it into bcarkla1n or whichever jailbreak program you used and it will turn it on for you. Untethered is just as it would seem, you can turn it on and off without worrying about anything.
